Kenneth W. Scholter, an aviator and entrepreneur, was born in Duquesne, Pa. on August 6, 1910. His father worked as an electrician at the Duquesne Works. He was one of nine children. He developed an interest in powered flight at an early age. He learned to fly and repair planes as a teenager. In the late 1920s, he began to work for Pilots in the U.S. Armed Services.
